The State of Virginia uses the 2012 edition of the Virginia Construction Code (VCC) Appendix H to regulate the installation of wall signs. This section requires that the sign attachment withstand the design loads for this area (90mph wind/25 psf snow) found in Chapter 16. Provide attachment detail and calculations to show the proposed attachment method will meet these requirements. Include the type, size and frequency of the fasteners. Identify the substrate the sign will be attached to. (Keep in mind, an installer will be charged with mounting this sign, direction is needed so the attachment method meets the wind/snow load requirements. The inspector needs direction to verify the sign is attached properly)
