The drawings show that two new bathrooms are being installed on the roof. These bathrooms are fitted with electric heaters and are considered conditioned space. However, no information for this building thermal envelope has been provided. It appears that this space may be separate from the rest of the building thermal envelope as it may be above an air open space and above the existing building roof. This means that a continuous air barrier is required, per section C402.4 of the 2012 VECC. The air barrier must cover the entire thermal envelope of this space, including floors, walls and roofs. In addition, the floors, walls and roofs must be insulated in accordance with Table C402.2 of the 2012 VECC. In the resubmission, provide a section detail that shows the continuous air barrier for this space and the insulation R-value for the floors walls and roofs for this portion of the building thermal envelope. |
